A British pop rock band based in London. They began recording during the mid-1980s, and released their first album, Play Deep in 1985. The album went triple platinum in America. The Outfield are unusual for a British band in that they enjoyed commercial success in the US, but never reached the album or singles charts in their homeland. They continued to record into the early 1990s, before a hiatus during the middle of that decade. They resumed touring in 1998, and thereafter released two live albums via their web site.

Outfield - Play Deep (1985)
No.9 in USA. The Brits had their shot at 80's rock in the form of The Outfield, consisting of guitarist John Spinks, lead vocalist and bassist Tony Lewis, and drummer Alan Jackman. And with producer Rick Chertoff at the helm, he worked similar magic that he did on Cyndi Lauper's landmark She's So Unusual and The Hooters' Nervous Night.

Rick Springfield (born Richard Lewis Springthorpe on August 23, 1949 in Sydney) is an Australian-American songwriter, musician and actor. As a musician, he is most famous for the 1981 #1 single "Jessie's Girl", which became a Grammy Award-winning landmark of 1980s pop-rock and helped establish the emerging music video age. As an actor, Springfield's best known role is that of the character Dr. Noah Drake on the daytime drama General Hospital. He originated the character from 1981-1983 and then returned to play him again from 2005 until present. He then appeared on Don't Forget The Lyrics in January 2009 to sing his song "Jessie's Girl" and his new song "What's Victoria's Secret." He stayed until the show was over. On March 19 2009, he plays a gig in support of Voices of Uganda at the Key Club in Los Angeles. The gig is co-organized by fellow General Hospital alum, actress Melissa Fitzgerald.

Springfield grew up in a military family and moved frequently, as his father was posted to various military bases throughout Australia and Great Britain. Springfield started playing piano at the age of 9 and the guitar at the age of 13. He first wrote songs when he was 14.

In 1974, Springfield dated and lived with then 15-year-old actress Linda Blair. He considered it his first "grown up" relationship, despite nearly 10 years difference in their ages.

He married Barbara Porter (October 27, 1984). They met in 1980 while she was working as a receptionist at the recording studio where he recorded his 1981 album Working Class Dog. They have two sons: Liam, born in 1985, and Josh, born in 1989.

In 1985, Springfield took a break from his musical career to spend more time with his family, and to deal with the depression that had affected him since his adolescence. He had also wrestled with depression in the 1970s, when the serious illness of his father (who died on April 24, 1981) and career troubles caused him to "hit the wall" and contemplate suicide.

In 2006, Rick Springfield became a citizen of the United States, but also retains his Australian citizenship.

In 2009, Rick made a surprise appearance on Don't Forget the Lyrics! to commemorate the contestant's love for the 1980s. He sang "Jessie's Girl" after host Wayne Brady introduced him.

Winger was formed in 1987 by Kip Winger (vocals, bass), formerly of Alice Cooper's band and Reb Beach (guitars). Paul Taylor (guitars, keyboards) was also a natural recruit for Winger, having also played with Alice Cooper's band. To round up the line up they recruited former Dixie Dregs drummer Rod Morgenstein. The band's first choice of name was Sahara, but that name was taken by another band, so they all decided on Winger instead. Although they changed the name to Winger, the word Sahara can still be seen on the lower right corner of the debut album's cover.

They recorded three studio albums. The debut album, Winger, was released on August 10, 1988 on Atlantic Records. The record was a success, achieving platinum status in the United States, and gold in Japan and Canada. Radio and MTV hits from the album included "Madalaine", "Seventeen", "Headed For A Heartbreak", and "Hungry".

In 1990, the band was nominated for an American Music Award for "Best New Heavy Metal Band". Shortly after, Winger released its second album In the Heart of the Young, which went platinum in the U.S. and gold in Japan. Hit radio tracks and MTV videos included "Can't Get Enuff", "Miles Away" and "Easy Come Easy Go".

Winger followed the release of its second album with a 13 month world tour, playing over 230 dates with Kiss, Scorpions, ZZ Top, Extreme and Slaughter. Paul Taylor left the band after the tour. In 2001 the band returned to the studio to record the song "On the Inside" for The Very Best of Winger. In 2002 they reunited to tour the US and Canada on a bill with Poison, but once again disbanded afterwards.

In May 2006 a press release announced that Winger has reformed to record another album and tour Europe. The album IV was released in Europe in October and the nine-country "Winger IV Tour" ran in the last two weeks of the same month.

The debut album of the American rock band Winger. The album was released by Atlantic Records in 1988 and it was produced by Beau Hill. The music was radio friendly, but with a progressive twist that also showcased the band's musical talent. The lyrics, however, were typical of the age and genre. It produced a number of radio and video hits, including "Headed for a Heartbreak" and "Seventeen", peaking at #19 and #26 at the Billboard's single chart. The album itself peaked at #21 at the album chart and achieved platinum status in the United States and went gold in Canada and Japan.

In support of the album Winger toured for over a year with bands like Bad Company, Scorpions, Cinderella, Bon Jovi, Poison, Skid Row and Tesla.

The 2nd album by American glam metal band Winger. It was released by Atlantic Records in 1990.

Musically, In the Heart of the Young followed closely in the footsteps of the band's debut album. Once again produced by Beau Hill, the album features hook driven, progressive-tinged, radio friendly pop metal. There are, however, also some notable changes from the debut. In the second half of the album the lyrics take on a more serious approach than was typical for the genre and the band also stretches out into longer and more complex progressive passages than on the first Winger album.

The album was certified platinum and produced such hits as "Can't Get Enuff", "Easy Come Easy Go" and "Miles Away", the latter of which made the Top 20 at Billboard's single chart. According to Kip Winger, "Can't Get Enuff" and "Easy Come Easy Go" were late additions to the track listing, written because it was felt there were not enough rock songs on the album. The album itself peaked at #15 at the album chart.

Their third and last studio album, Pull, was recorded in 1992/93 as a three-piece band. It was originally going to be called "Blind Revolution Mad", after the opening song. At some point though, the title was changed to Pull. Reportedly Kip Winger, anticipating that critics would dismiss the album out of hand, re-named it "Pull" as a tongue-in-cheek reference to the CD being used by critics as a skeet shooting target. The album was produced by Mike Shipley, but was not as successful as the previous album. On the following tour John Roth (guitar) was called in to replace Paul Taylor. After the Pull tour, the band broke up. Kip Winger embarked on a solo career and the other members worked on other projects.

Winger - The Very Best Of Winger (2001)
A Winger compilation album released by Atlantic Records and Rhino Entertainment Company in 2001. Most of the songs on the album were collected from the three Winger studio albums, Winger (1988), In the Heart of the Young (1990) and Pull (1993), but there is one new recording called "On The Inside" and a Japanese bonus track from the Pull album called "Hell To Pay." According to Kip Winger, "On The Inside" was a leftover riff from the Pull sessions that he and Reb Beach worked into a complete song for the release of this compilation

Winger Live is a two CD and DVD live set culled from Winger 2007 US reunion tour Directed by Jack Edward Sawyers. Kip Winger, Reb Beach, Rod Morgenstein and John Roth rip through all the hits, progressive jams and new material taken from their comeback album IV. Keyboardist Cenk Eroglu was not present for this show despite his appearance on Winger IV. The cover consists of a checkerboard-style grid of live still frames pulled from the video footage itself.

Gene Simmons (born Chaim Witz [חיים ויץ pronounced /ˈxɑː.iːm/] on August 25, 1949) is an Israeli American hard rock bassist, vocalist, and actor. He is best known as "The Demon", the blood-spitting, fire-breathing, and tongue-wagging bassist and vocalist in the hard rock band Kiss, an act he co-founded in the early 1970s. Simmons also contends that he has "never been high, drunk, or smoked in his life."

Simmons was born in Haifa, Israel, and immigrated to New York City at the age of eight, with his mother Florence Klein—a Jewish Hungarian immigrant. Florence and her brother, Larry Klein, were the only two members of her family to survive the Holocaust. His father, Feri Witz, did not accompany them to the U.S. When Simmons was young, his mother's long absences while working two jobs in order to make ends meet left emotional scars that gave him a strong desire for wealth. After arriving in the U.S., he took the name Eugene Klein (later Gene Klein), Klein being his mother's maiden name. In the late 1960s, he changed his name to Gene Simmons to honor legendary rockabilly performer Jumpin' Gene Simmons.

Simmons became involved with his first band, Lynx, then renamed The Missing Links, when he was a teenager. Eventually, he disbanded The Missing Links to form The Long Island Sounds. While he played in these bands, he kept up odd jobs on the side to make more money, including making fanzines and trading used comic books. Simmons attended Sullivan County Community College in Loch Sheldrake, New York. He then joined a new band, Bullfrog Bheer, and the band recorded a demo, "Leeta"; later included on the Kiss box set.
The Demon

Simmons formed the rock band Wicked Lester in the early 1970s with Stanley Harvey Eisen (now known as Paul Stanley) and recorded one album, which was never released. Dissatisfied with Wicked Lester's sound and look, Simmons and Stanley attempted to fire their band members; they were met with resistance, and they quit Wicked Lester, walking away from their record deal with Epic Records. They decided to form the ultimate rock band, and started looking for a drummer. Simmons and Stanley found an ad placed by Peter Criss, who was playing clubs in Brooklyn at the time; they joined and started out as a trio. Paul Frehley responded to an ad they put in the Village Voice for a lead guitar player, and soon joined them. Kiss released its self-titled debut album in February 1974. Stanley quickly took on the role of lead performer on stage, while Simmons became the driving force behind what became an extensive Kiss merchandising franchise.

In 1983, while Kiss' fame was waning, the members took off their trademark make-up and enjoyed a resurgence in popularity that continued into the 1990s. The band hosted their own fan conventions throughout 1995, and fan feedback about the original Kiss members reunion influenced the highly successful 1996-1997 Alive Worldwide reunion tour. In 1998, the band released Psycho Circus, its first album in almost 20 years by the original line-up. Since then, the original line-up has once again dissolved, with Tommy Thayer replacing Ace Frehley on lead guitar and Eric Singer (who performed with Kiss from 1992 up through 1996) replacing Peter Criss on drums.


Gene Simmons - Asshole (2004)
Asshole is the second solo album release by KISS member Gene Simmons. It was released in 2004 on the Sanctuary Records Label. Due to its controversial anatomical nature, the album's title does not appear on the front cover of the album. On the side of the CD case the title reads "***hole". Dave Navarro plays guitar on the Prodigy cover Firestarter.

Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues. (1990)

Gary Moore (born Robert William Gary Moore, 4 April 1952, Belfast, Northern Ireland) is a Northern Irish guitarist and singer. In a career dating back to the 1960s, he has played with artists including Thin Lizzy, BB King, Colosseum II, Greg Lake and the Blues-rock band Skid Row, as well as having a successful solo career. Among many cameo appearances over the years, he performed the lead guitar solo on "She's My Baby" from Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3.

Moore grew up on a road opposite Stormont, off the Upper Newtownards Road in east Belfast and started performing at a young age, having picked up a battered acoustic guitar at the age of eight, and got his first quality guitar at the age of fourteen, learning to play the right-handed instrument in the standard way despite being left-handed. Like so many others, Moore's early influences were artists such as Elvis Presley and The Beatles. Later, having seen Jimi Hendrix and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in his home town of Belfast, his own style was developing into a blues-rock sound that would come to dominate his career. His largest influence in the early days came from Peter Green, of Fleetwood Mac fame, who acted as a mentor when Moore was playing in Dublin. Green continued to influence Moore, and Moore later paid tribute to Green in his 1995 album Blues for Greeny, an album consisting entirely of Peter Green compositions. On the album Moore played Peter Green's celebrated 1959 Les Paul standard guitar which Green had loaned to Moore after leaving Fleetwood Mac. Moore ultimately purchased the guitar, at Green's request, so that "it would have a good home".

Gary Moore has remained relatively unknown in the US, although his work has "brought substantial acclaim and commercial success in most other parts of the world - especially in Europe". Moore has throughout his career been recognised as an influence to many guitarists such as Randy Rhoads, John Sykes and Kirk Hammett.

Over his long career, Gary Moore has been anything but predictable in his style and genre, at times to the dismay and confusion of his fans and critics alike, ranging from an amalgam of rock, jazz, blues and country, to traditional electric blues, to hard rock, heavy metal and more. Although primarily recognized as a blues-rock artist, his variations and versatility are no more evidenced than by a glimpse at some of his collaborations including such diverse acts/artists as George Harrison, Trilok Gurtu, Dr. Strangely Strange, Colosseum II, Albert Collins, Jimmy Nail, Mo Foster, Ginger Baker, Jim Capaldi, Vicki Brown, Cozy Powell, The Beach Boys, Gary Husband, Ozzy Osbourne and Andrew Lloyd Webber, to name a few.

Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues (1990)
A lot of people will pass off Gary Moore as a one hit wonder, a lot of people have probably never even heard of him, but once you hear one of his rock, or blues records, you will fall in love with his sheer amazing ability. Gary Moore started out by forming Skid Row in 1970, and then drifted in and out of monsterous Irish rockers, Thin Lizzy, lending his hand to Phil Lynott's band on many an occasion, whether it be finishing off an album, or playing in Lizzy's electric live shows. But Gary yearned for more, a successful solo career beckoned and when his first album stalled in 1973, he went back to playing in Lizzy, as well as Colosseum II and a few Greg Lake solo records before returning to his solo career in 1979, releasing a top ten single with Phil Lynott, then going on to release a series of powerful rock records throughout the 80's, all to marginal success....Then he things changed.

Gary returned to his first love, the Blues, and released this corker of a record, 'Still Got The Blues'. This really put Gary on the map of success, spawning 2 massive hits, 'Still Got The Blues' and 'Walking By Myself', still 2 remaining staples in his live sets today. This album also contains special guest contributions by Albert king, Albert Collins and George Harrison.

Kip Winger is an American rock musician, member of the hard rock band Winger and a solo artist. Born as Charles Frederick Kip Winger in Denver, Colorado, on June 21, 1961, to parents who were jazz musicians. Music was a way of life since childhood. He grew up playing in a band named Blackwood Creek with brothers Nate, Paul and friend Peter Fletcher (currently in Pigmy Love Circus). Blackwood Creek broke up in 1980.

At 16 he began studying classical music after being exposed to the likes of Debussy, Ravel, and Stravinsky in ballet class. Also at age 16,Justify Full he sent a demo tape to Alan Parsons, to which he received a personal reply from Alan himself. Years later, when Kip was chosen to be the lead singer of the Alan Parsons Project, he presented Alan with that very letter from 30 years prior.

In 1982 he moved to New York City and waited tables while studying Composition with Edgar Grana. His first big commercial break came in 1984 when he co-wrote a song for the group KIX's third album Midnite Dynamite. During that time he was working closely with producer Beau Hill, recording bass and vocals on various records. While Reb Beach was working on Fiona Flannigan's Beyond The Pale record at Atlantic studios, Kip and Reb were introduced to each other and later began recording demos. Later, in 1985, Winger joined Alice Cooper's band. After making two albums with Alice, Kip left in March 1987 to focus on his own band.

Kip went back to New York to work on songs with Reb Beach. They were joined by drummer Rod Morgenstein and keyboard player Paul Taylor. They initially performed under the name Sahara, but eventually changed their name to Winger per Alice Coopers suggestion. Winger released three of its seven albums (Winger in 1988, In the Heart of the Young in 1990, and Pull in 1993) before their first break up in 1994.

Kip then moved to New Mexico to work on his solo career and study with Richard Hermann at the University of New Mexico. Tragedy struck Kip in 1996 when his first wife Beatrice was killed in an automobile accident. He worked and recorded three solo records in Santa Fe, New Mexico: "This Conversation Seems Like a Dream", "Songs From The Ocean Floor", and "Made By Hand"

In 2002 He moved to Nashville and began working on his fourth solo record, "From The Moon To The Sun," which he co-produced with Cenk Eroglu. In September 2006, Kip reformed Winger, with the Pull-era line-up, to record the band's fourth studio album, IV, and to go on tour to support it.
During their 2006 tour, Winger recorded "Winger Live". Kip has since reformed his original band, Blackwood Creek, and is mixing for a new release in early 2009.

Kip Winger has recently completed a twenty minute symphonic piece, "Ghosts," written for strings, piano, and harp for a ballet commission. He is currently studying with composer Michael Kurek.

"From the Moon to the Sun" is Kip Winger's 4th latest stab at artistic expression, in the form of a solo album. Sometimes sleepy, othertimes ghostly, a few Westcoast bleach washed moments and a couple of dark moody tracks to disturb the atmosphere now and then, this is a disc of variety and conscious soul stirring. The tracks have meaning and purpose, laying down the rules of love, the laws of life and a few stabs at storytelling inbetween. It will not appeal to everyone but does have its niche, and comes off much more polished and focused than his meandering "This Conversation Seems Like a Dream". Kip's solo work is far, no - lightyears removed from his melodic excess 80s days as well, and has none of those fun, partying, lust obsessed fluff tracks. I suppose it would have been a bit creepy to have a more mature Kip singing with a leer about teenage girls in this day and age. These are dire, serious pieces, sometimes cynical, and a few with hope. Kip is a man who has been put through his paces and had his limits tested and his musical output reflects those trials and tribulations he has faced down in his own life's journey. Now whether that groundwork makes for a compelling listen depends on how the tune unravels.

Harem Scarem were a Canadian hard rock band from Toronto, ON. Harem Scarem achieved popularity in Japan and their native Canada in the early 1990's. Harem Scarem were active from 1987 to 2008. Throughout their career, they released 12 albums. The band was named after the first Bugs Bunny cartoon, which was called Hare-um Scare-um. They renamed themselves Rubber in 1999 and released two albums under that name. In 2001, they went back to the Harem Scarem name. In the Summer of 2007 they announced they “will officially break-up after one more studio album.

In 1991, Harem Scarem released their self titled debut album, which charted at #68 on the Canadian album chart. The band managed to score a major hit while they were at it; "Slowly Slipping Away", which charted at #25 on the Canadian single chart. They also managed to score two minor hits; "Honestly" and "Love Reaction"

In 1992, the little known band, Harem Scarem was able to gain some notoriety when 8 songs from their debut album Harem Scarem was predominantly featured in the Canadian teen series Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High's farewell TV movie, School's Out. There were many requests by excited fans for the songs on radio stations throughout Toronto.

In 1993, Harem Scarem released their second album, Mood Swings, which had more of a harder sound to it than their previous album. A fan favorite, Mood Swings charted at #83 on the Canadian charts. The album's lead off single was "No Justice", which managed to chart at #59 in Canada, but the other two singles failed to chart. Mood Swings caused the band to gain popularity in Japan and the band's previous album was quickly issued in that country the following year.
